Experienced Level Designer – F2P Game – Midlands – Permanent

My Client, a well-known Game Development Studio in the Midlands, is currently looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Level Designer to join their outstanding team to work on a colourful free to play game.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly motivated team of talented developers and industry veterans working on their new IP.

Responsibilities:

• Using in-house tools and scripting to build levels and balance game content
• Work with other members of the existing design team
• Use of playtests to iterate
• Report to the Design Director to achieve the creative goals of the project

Requirements:

• A range of general game design experience
• Scripting experience
• Ability to work iteratively as part of a collaborative scrum team
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Clear communication skills, friendly pro-active nature
• Experience of level design for 3D action games

Beneficial skills:

• Experience with game balance (particularly movement and combat) is desirable
• Multiplayer map design experience is highly beneficial
• Experience with procedural level generation techniques
• Able to use design philosophies of market leading developers as a reference point
• Experience of mobile development
• Experience of free to play design
• Plays a broad range of games
