One Player Mission’s client has been firmly devoted to its goal of fusing the strengths of the gaming and tv industries to create a brand-new category of games called hybrid games.
They’ve assembled a team of industry experts spanning the globe who all contribute their individual specialist experiences from other industries in order to succeed in developing this new category.
They are searching for a Environment Artist to aid them their mission, who will be responsible for creating visually stunning and immersive gaming environments and props for high-end (AAA) scenarios and mobile platforms.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Established experience as a 3D environment artist in the game industry.
- A minimum of 1 published game title on your resumé, not including solo-dev or student projects.
- Expertise in Unreal Engine 4/5 plus 3D modelling, texturing, and lighting and industry-standard art production pipelines.
- Experience in environment work within Unreal Engine, including a deep understanding of shader creation, post-processing effects, as well as familiarity with Unreal Blueprints.
- Demonstrable skills in props and asset creation, from 2D concept to a fully baked and textured final product that meets technical industry-standards.
- Ability to produce both hard and soft surface assets depending on needs.
- Solid knowledge of optimisation techniques for smooth performance both on mobile devices and high-end VR setups.
- Deep understanding of architectural layout, scene composition, colour theory, lighting, visual storytelling, environmental FX and post-processing.
- Strong communication skills, self-motivation and a high degree of flexibility, with the ability to adopt a generalist mindset and work independently across multiple related disciplines when needed.
- Full-working proficiency and fluency in English (ability to discuss work-related tasks verbally and in written form).
- Experience with Blender, 3ds Max, Maya, Zbrush, Substance Suite and/or Photoshop, is a significant advantage.
- A firm understanding of profiling and optimisation techniques for real-time performance is considered an asset.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Designing and creating 3D environments and assets using Unreal Engine.
- Handling props and asset modeling, texturing & shading, environment set dressing, lighting and post-processing, ensuring consistency with the company’s overall visual style.
- Creating both high-end studio-quality PC, VR and mobile environments in Unreal Engine that push boundaries while satisfying technical requirements for optimal performance on all relevant platforms.
- Managing and organising environment and asset files, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Working independently and communicating well with the art director, artists, game designers, programmers and other team members.
