Our client and its creative division are looking for a passionate and highly creative Senior Environment Artist for their studio in Malmö. As a Senior Environment Artist you will be tasked with crafting cutting edge game environments. The ideal candidate will have experience creating natural environments particularly vegetation and organic terrain. They should also have a broad experience in the discipline covering other areas such as hard surfaces, man made structures and props.

The candidate must be a self starter who is capable of identifying what is needed to get the job done. They must feel comfortable working in a multidisciplinary team, who they will be working with to create astounding, beautiful open worlds. They will be expected to drive the quality benchmark for the discipline whilst managing their time to match the project’s goals.

The Position
As an Environment Artist at our client you will collaborate in a small, interdisciplinary team to create art for a world and all of its components. We expect you to take your assets all the way from conceptual mockups through modeling and texturing to final placement in the environment. You will also be responsible for the final functionality of your assets, such as setup of destruction and environment animations. 

Required qualifications

  • Excellent modeling and texturing skills using Autodesk Maya and Adobe Photoshop
  • Experience with physically-based rendering
  • A strong reel with clearly-documented artistic accomplishments
  • A great sense of technical know-how and functional problem-solving
  • Passion for making and playing games

Desired qualifications

  • Extensive AAA experience and with at least one open-world game shipped (or equivalent)
  • Experience with Zbrush
  • Experience with Allegorithmic Substance Designer or Painter.
  • Experience with Quixel Suite
  • Experience with photogrammetric asset creation workflows
  • Ability to communicate and realize an artistic vision
