Engine Programmer – C++ – Action Adventure Game – Onsite/Hybrid Berlin, Germany

OPM are proud to be working with a globally recognised games developer based in Berlin, currently looking for an Engine Programmer to join the team on an upcoming action-adventure AAA title.

The company are responsible for some of the most successful and well-known IPs in the games industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining low-level systems and overall architecture.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Good professional experience as an engine programmer
• Superb knowledge in C/C++
• Experience in programming robust, optimised, and efficient code
• Debugging and problem-solving skills
• Excellent English communication skills

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Adapt existing technology to run on a broader range of hardware
• Develop systems that enhance the technical quality of the in-house engine
• Add support for new hardware features that become available
• Collaborate with other studios to extend the capabilities of the inhouse technology
• Profile and optimise performance and memory usage

DESIRED SKILLS (good to have):

• Experience in creating memory friendly, cache efficient and optimised code in a multithreaded environment
• Experience in using different CPU and memory profiling tools
• Worked on your own engine
• Experience with platforms where performance/bandwidth restrictions exist
• Understanding of hardware architecture and details
