OPM is proud to be working with one of Europe’s leading game development companies who are seeking a Cinematic Lighting Artist to join their team to create outstanding cinematic visuals that will help tell powerful stories in a rich, dynamic open world title.

As a member of their Art team you will be responsible for putting the finishing touches to a variety of real-time Cinematics. The Art team sets the atmosphere for each scene, bolstering the story and illuminating the beauty of characters and environments.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and place character lighting schemes and supplementary environment lighting to produce visually compelling and great looking cinematics and trailers.
  • Coordinate with Cinematic Artists, Animators, Environment and FX artists to optimise the visual look and performance of scenes.
  • Coordinate with the other departments to ensure appropriate integration with gameplay.
  • Adapt Post Processing such as ambience, exposure, depth of field, and weather settings to support the expected visual look.
  • Add to the development and placement of special effects related to lighting and atmosphere including lens flares, fog, god rays and camera optics.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Professional experience on movie or game production pipeline in a Lighting Artist role.
  • Professional experience on at least one published AA/AAA movie or game title.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing your lighting skills, including character lighting.
  • Strong understanding of lighting theory including colour space, exposure, natural light, reflections, etc.
  • Good understanding of cinematography and dramaturgy, use of camera technology, scene blocking and lighting to set the mood.
  • Good perception of performance impacts and able to balance between visual quality and performance requirements.
