Cinematic Animator – Sweden – Permanent – Video Games

OPMs client is looking for a talented Cinematic Animator to join their team, on an unannounced open world multiplayer title. The successful candidate will take on a large amount of ownership and responsibility creating world-class cinematic content alongside an outstanding cinematic team.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Extensive experience in as a Cinematic Animator, having worked full cycle on at least one AAA game or equivalent in movie.
• Deep understanding of Maya and MotionBuilder.
• Skilful in animating human and creature characters, both body and facial animation.
• Solid acting abilities.
• Proficient in technical problem solving.
• Experience using Motion-Capture data, both in polish and enhancement.
• Strong observational skills with a good understanding of weight distribution and pacing/timing.
• Outstanding communication skills.
• Experience as a mentor or able to provide guidance to less experienced animators in the team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work closely with the director and with a talented cinematic team, to fully realise world-class cinematic content.
• Make contributions on many levels, both to the game and the company.

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Experience working with motion capture actors on set.
• Experience in preparing materials (shot briefs, preparing assets and creating previz material, etc.) for motion capture shoots for cinematics through a full-performance capture pipeline
• A strong understanding of storytelling through a camera
