OPM’s client is a BAFTA-winning, independent game developer, known for delivering high-end cinematic games and is carving a unique and exciting path in the gaming industry. They are currently seeking an experienced Audio Programmer to join their team.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong professional audio programming experience in the games industry
- Knowledge of some non-audio game systems, such as pipelines or tools
- Superb C++ skills
- Good 3D maths knowledge
- Good knowledge of SDK and TRCs
- Knowledge of third-party audio SDKs such as Wwise or Fmod
- Experience on at least one modern console or PC title
RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Work closely with audio designers to implement and actively develop an efficient workflow that can create top quality game audio
- Develop feature-rich audio systems across multiple projects, strengthening the integration of audio technology into the games and helping to champion audio in the studio
- Develop, maintain, and communicate a clear audio technical strategy and code architecture for the shared codebase
- Contribute strongly to maintaining close links with the game teams, across all disciplines
- Able to provide day to day mentoring for the more junior programmers on the team
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Exposure to an Agile (e.g. Scrum) development environment
- Experience with MP3 and Ogg compression handling
