OPM are working with a great Games Development studio in Malmo, Sweden who are looking to hire an Associate Producer to join their team. The AP’s overarching responsibility is helping to manage the workload of the project. This means keeping an updated overview of all the tasks for different disciplines and teams, including the backlog, progress towards future milestones and making sure the status of all tasks is accurately represented in a tracking tool. The purpose of this is to have an accurate picture of the state of the project at all times. If done right, this will allow them to know well in advance if there are any risks and whether or not they are on track to meet deadlines, thereby giving them time to make adjustments to the plan and reschedule if needed.
For this role specifically, our client is looking for an expert in Task Management. This person will own the deployment and implementation of both tools and processes to help them be better at planning, tasking and reporting the status of the project. This work will include setting up the software, ensuring it works and meets the requirements of the disciplines, all the while keeping an eye on future needs and improvements.
To achieve this goal, the AP will work closely with Production, IT, and the discipline Leads. It is the Leads job to make sure all the tasks are entered, either by themselves or by their team members, while the AP is there to make sure this happens, the status of the tasks is regularly updated, and the whole process is done in line with the established guidelines and procedures. The AP also needs to ensure that proper follow up is done on all outstanding tasks, issues and dependencies.
