OPMs client is a UK games developer with a rich portfolio of action adventure games. They keep high production values close to their heart and it shows in all their games. They are seeking a Mechanics Designer to join their team in Cambridge.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Professional experience designing mechanics on successful high-end character-action games as a Senior/Principle/Lead Designer
  • Expert skill with Unreal Engine (or similar), with competent scripting ability
  • Experience in art, design, and layout tools, or are an eager designer wanting to break into character-focused mechanics’ design
  • Building character mechanics such as combat, locomotion, climbing and other environment interactions
  • Working closely with a cross-discipline team involving animation tech, audio, code, and actors.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and develop character mechanics where the player experience expresses a depth of gameplay, suspension of disbelief and storytelling that is unparalleled in the games industry code, and actors.??
