You will be working with a team a highly talented group of experts who know their product inside out and are passionate about everything they do.

 

Who they are looking for:

You will help to spearhead the modernisation of this long running title from a technology point of view. You will also be involved in all areas of the game from deciding the strategy to appearing on livestreams where tens of thousands of people will hang on your every word.

Now, normally a game developer is someone that sits behind the scenes letting the content developers take the glory for what the players see… this role is oh so very different. You will work with the community to understand what they want from the game and how best the game engine can supply that. You will regularly show players what you are working on so the general player base can get an even better idea of how important game engine developers are.

Sure, there will be frustrations and plenty of hard work but you will be a very large cog in a very large engine. You have the chance to make a massive difference to a hugely successful game played by hundreds of thousands of players every day and if you succeed, the players will love you for it.

 

Required Skills/Duties:

  • An excellent Java programmer or proficient in another similar object-oriented language
  • Experienced in building core gameplay systems
  • Experience with one or more key game development disciplines such as rendering, tools, gameplay, AI, networking, etc.?
  • Extremely proficient with Java
  • Have a passion for gaming and MMO’s?
  • Have professional games industry experience
  • Some experience of using a scripting language Lua/python/perl/bash etc
  • Talk directly to the community to understand what the end user wants to experience.
