3D Environment Artist – Realistic Games- Full time remote- UK

OPM’s client is looking for someone with experience working on commercial titles, who has a strong passion for creating immersive environments in Unreal Engine 4. They will also play a vital role in building our clients debut first-person, dinosaur survival horror game.

The successful candidate will work completely remotely and support a flexible working model. We understand that the world is changing, and people have lives outside of work. We work with people all over the world and don’t see geography as a barrier to attracting the right talent.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience in 3D video game asset creation
  • Experience with Unreal Engine 4
  • Experience with current 3D modelling tools such as 3ds Max, Maya or equivalent.
  • A strong understanding of art fundamentals.
  • Solid understanding of performance and working with rendering budgets.
  • Abstract problem solving – the ability to assess and respond to a brief.
  • A desire to learn new skills and build on existing abilities.
  • Great soft skills: friendly, open minded/flexible, positive, self-motivated, proactive, and willing to take direction.
  • Comfortable working collaboratively with a professional attitude.
  • Strong English skills, both written and verbal.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Be responsible for creating high quality 3D environment assets (architecture, props, organics, etc).
  • Work in Unreal Engine to dress white-box levels with environment assets.
  • Work closely together with the Level Design Team, Art Lead and other artists.
  • Creating realistic PBR materials in Unreal Engine.
  • Create efficient UV layouts that work well within existing material and texture constraints.
  • Be required to collaborate and work well with other members of the team.
  • Need to respond to feedback from the Art Lead to ensure the artistic style and quality of the game's assets remain consistent.
  • Creating realistic PBR materials in Unreal Engine.
