JOB APPLICATION guidance.
Some hiring managers look at hundreds of applications a week, you need to highlight your skills before they lose interest. We’re here to guide and support you.

SENDING AN APPLICATION
STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD.
How you approach someone when applying for a job can make a huge difference to how they address your application. If you take the time to personalise your application and make it specific to where you’re applying, you’ll appear genuinely interested in working there and will put yourself ahead of those ‘spamming’ their CVs everywhere, hoping one will stick.
Download our job application checklist below and make sure you’ve covered everything before sending your CV to a games company.
ALL ABOUT YOU
YOUR MOST IMPORTANT TOOLS ARE YOUR CV AND PORTFOLIO
Who are you and what do you do? These are the things we are looking for immediately when looking at a CV. A short bio, your specialist skillset and your most recent work experience need to be on page one.
Keep the length to 2/3 pages maximum. If your CV is longer than this you risk important information being missed. Hiring managers are unlikely to get past page two if they’ve got a lot of CVs to read.
Download our CV Guide and CV Template below to give yourself the best chance with hiring managers.
For many roles in the games industry, your portfolio is more important than your CV, and it’s important that you spend time working on this to ensure it is the best representation of your up-to-date skill set, and shows the breadth of your abilities. It must be relevant to the jobs you’re applying for and ideally a mix of personal and professional work.
Our clients like to see online portfolios or demo reels. Ideally you can put these on your own website, however there are other websites you can use for this. You only get one chance to make a first impression – let’s make sure it’s a good one.
