One Player Missions Client are looking for a Lead Artist, The client are an established game studio based in the South East of England. With a growing team of highly experienced developers, they focus on creating the exceptional and innovative games of the future. they’re currently working with a AAA publisher in the early stages of a major new project as well as their own IP.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the art team from the front. 
  • Ensure the art team’s output respects the artistic vision of the game. 
  • Relentlessly raise the quality bar, demanding excellence from self and team. 
  • Ensure the art team has the staff, techniques and tools they need to succeed. 
  • Regularly review and provide feedback to art staff. 
  • Work with directors, producers, and specialist art leads to proactively organise the art team. 
  • Inspire, support and nurture the potential in the artists.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of professional game development experience as an artist / senior artist.
  • 2 or more years experience in a leading art role.
  • Advanced skill with tools such as Max, Maya, Blender, Photoshop, Substance Designer, and/or similar software. 
  • Ability to produce photorealistic art of exceptional quality. 
  • A strong understanding of current game technology and future ambitions.

They are looking for a Environment Artist who will play a significant role in the art team’s efforts to produce detailed, modular and high-quality environment models.

REQUIREMENTS:

OPM’s client is seeking a Senior Environment Artist to join their passionate and talented team.

The successful candidate will build awe inspiring worlds that play and perform well with high-quality assets that are delivered on time and within the technical specifications required for the game to perform to the highest standards.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • An up-to-date portfolio filled with examples of Environment work.
  • In-depth understanding of shape, form and composition.
  • Proven abilities in optimised 3D asset creation.
  • Good experience of PBR workflows.
  • Expertise with industry standard modelling tools such as 3D Studio Max and Maya.
  • Familiarity working with Photoshop, Substance Painter.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • The capability to work well within a team.
  • Experience with industry standard asset tracking software such as Jira.

RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Produce standalone and modular Environment assets varying in scale and complexity.
  • Model assets using reference photographs and concept Art materials.
  • Collaborate with the Lead Environment Artist to create high quality environments in keeping with the project's visual direction.
  • Create work within performance specifications under strict deadlines.
  • Review and implement your work using the game editor.
  • Trouble shoot asset errors and action creative feedback.
  • Work closely with other sub-disciplines such as Level Design, Lighting, VFX and Tech Art.
  • Mentor junior level staff through knowledge sharing.

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of the impact of Environment Art on Level Design.
  • Unreal Engine 4+ experience
  • Familiarity with supporting software such as Zbrush and Substance Designer.
  • Combination of hard surface and foliage asset modelling skills.
  • Set dressing and beautification pass experience.

One Player Missions client is looking for a Senior Character Artist to join their Art Team. They are launching a novel online sci-fi shooter.

The successful candidate will utilise their expertise in art and design to craft iconic characters for a ground-breaking project. They should be ready to collaborate closely with various departments, ensuring the production and delivery of top-quality characters in line with the game’s style and technical specifications.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong knowledge of art and design principles.
  • Proficient eye for detailing, making characters believable.
  • Deep understanding of form, line, shape, colour, proportions, and composition.
  • Passion for hard Sci-Fi.
  • Ability to understand briefs and interpret information to design characters fitting design requirements and art style.
  • Experience with PBR material workflows.
  • Mastery of Substance Painter and Designer.
  • Expertise in Maya, Zbrush.
  • Capable of writing clear and comprehensible briefs.
  • Established experience in AAA game development.
  • Impressive portfolio to showcase.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with Art Direction and Concept Art for Hard Sci-Fi Character creation.
  • Lead character design from initial concept to final asset.
  • Assemble references, mood boards, and video references as needed.
  • Craft briefs and offer feedback to external partners.
  • Liaise with the Production team for schedule development and timely asset delivery.
  • Coordinate with Tech Artists and Programming teams to define workflows, pipelines, and best practices.
  • Establish benchmark standards and oversee quality maintenance.
  • Ensure characters meet technical specifications, quality standards, and function as intended.
